Building Connections

Building friendships that last beyond military service.

Military service creates bonds, camaraderie, and a sense of belonging that can be difficult to replace after leaving the military. Building Connections creates welcoming opportunities for women veterans to develop meaningful relationships, strengthen their support networks, and build community with other women who have served.

Our Purpose

To foster meaningful relationships and reduce isolation among women veterans.

What We Do

We create welcoming social and peer-support opportunities where women veterans can meet, build friendships, share experiences, and stay connected to a community that understands the unique experience of military service.

Whether you recently transitioned from the military or have been a veteran for decades, you belong here.

Ways to Connect

Monthly Building Connections Brunch

Gather around the table with other women veterans for good food, conversation, and community. Our monthly brunch is a casual, welcoming opportunity to meet new people, reconnect with familiar faces, and build friendships with women from different branches, generations, and experiences. There is no formal agenda and no pressure. Just come as you are!

Family Dinner Night

Community includes our families, too. Family Dinner Night brings women veterans and their loved ones together for an informal meal and an opportunity to connect with other military-connected families. These gatherings create space for friendships to grow while allowing spouses, partners, children, and families to be part of the community we are building

Weekly Virtual Peer Support

Connection doesn't always have to happen in person. Through our partnership with Televeda, women veterans can participate in weekly virtual peer-support gatherings from wherever they are. Virtual programming provides another way to stay connected, meet other women veterans, and participate in community when attending an in-person event isn't possible.

Come When You Can. You’re Always Welcome.

You don't have to attend everything to be part of this community.

Work, family, school, appointments, and life can get busy. Come when you can, stay connected, and know you're always welcome.

Every gathering is another opportunity to build a friendship, strengthen a support network, create a new experience, or simply spend time with women who share the common bond of military service.

Help Us Build Connections

Community partners make these opportunities possible.

Businesses, organizations, and individuals can support our Building Connections program in ways both big and small. Your support helps us continue creating accessible, welcoming opportunities for women veterans and their families to build relationships and community.

Partners can support Building Connections by:

  • Sponsoring a gathering such as our Family Dinner Night

  • Becoming a monthly or annual program sponsor to help sustain Building Connections throughout the year

  • Hosting our group at your business, organization, or community space

  • Providing in-kind support such as meals, refreshments, meeting space, activities, supplies, or services

  • Donating raffle prizes or giveaways that add a little something special to our gatherings

Partnerships can be customized based on your organization, resources, and the type of impact you'd like to make.
