West Valley Women Veterans (“WVWV”) is committed to making our website, programs, events, and information accessible to people with disabilities.

We believe everyone should be able to learn about our mission, explore veteran resources, register for events, join our community, volunteer, donate, and contact our organization with dignity and independence.

Accessibility is an ongoing responsibility. We continually work to improve the usability and accessibility of our website as content, technology, and accessibility standards evolve.

Our Accessibility Goal

WVWV aims to follow the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (“WCAG”) 2.2 at Level AA wherever reasonably possible. WCAG provides recommendations for making digital content more perceivable, operable, understandable, and compatible with assistive technologies. The WVWV website has not yet undergone a comprehensive third-party accessibility audit. We do not claim that every page or feature fully conforms to WCAG 2.2 Level AA at this time.

Accessibility Measures

As part of our accessibility efforts, we work to:

• Provide alternative text for meaningful images

• Use clear page titles and heading structures

• Maintain readable text and color contrast

• Add descriptive labels to buttons, links, and form fields

• Support keyboard navigation where possible

• Use plain, understandable language

• Avoid unnecessary flashing or distracting movement

• Maintain consistent navigation across pages

• Design content for desktop, tablet, and mobile devices

• Provide captions, transcripts, or alternatives for multimedia when available

• Review forms for clear instructions and error messages

• Make downloadable documents accessible when reasonably possible

• Use Wix accessibility tools to identify and correct potential barriers

Accessibility checks are part of our ongoing website review and publishing process.

Compatibility with Assistive Technology

The website is designed to work with current versions of commonly used browsers and assistive technologies, including screen readers, browser-zoom tools, keyboard navigation, and built-in device accessibility features.

Accessibility may be reduced when using an outdated browser, unsupported assistive technology, disabled JavaScript, or a device that no longer receives software updates.

Known Limitations

Despite our efforts, visitors may encounter accessibility limitations. These may include:

• Older photographs that lack complete alternative descriptions

• Videos that do not yet include captions or transcripts

• PDF documents created by outside organizations

• Embedded forms, maps, payment tools, social-media content, or event features supplied by third parties

• External veteran-resource websites that WVWV does not operate

• Event information or documents submitted by community partners

• Archived content created before current accessibility practices were implemented

WVWV is working to identify and address issues within our control. We cannot directly control the accessibility of third-party websites, platforms, or content.

If you cannot access a third-party resource linked from our website, contact us and we will make a reasonable effort to help you locate the information in another format.

Accessibility at Events

WVWV hosts activities at a variety of community venues, some of which are operated by independent organizations. We strive to select welcoming and accessible locations and to communicate available accessibility information whenever possible. Accessibility features may vary by venue.

If you need an accommodation to participate in an event, please contact WVWV as early as possible. We will work with you and the event host to explore reasonable accommodations, although a particular accommodation may depend on the location, activity, available resources, and advance notice provided.

Alternative Access

If any website content, form, document, resource, or event information is difficult for you to access, contact us. We will make a reasonable effort to provide the information through an accessible alternative, such as:

• Plain-text email

• A different document format

• Assistance completing a form

• A verbal explanation

• Additional event-accessibility information

• Help locating an accessible version of a resource

Requesting accessibility assistance will not affect your eligibility for WVWV membership, events, programs, or services.

Feedback and Assistance

We welcome feedback about the accessibility of the WVWV website and community activities. When reporting an accessibility issue, please include:

• The webpage, form, document, or event involved

• A brief description of the difficulty

• The device, browser, or assistive technology used, if relevant

• Your preferred method of receiving assistance
